Pool Table Recovering
New cloth on the bed and rails, and the slate seen properly.
Cloth fails at the break spot, along the top rail where hands rest, and at the pocket mouths. When one lets go the rest is usually close behind, so replacing the lot costs less than replacing it twice.
It is the only visit where the slate is uncovered, which makes it the right moment to look at seams, bolts and rubber instead of taking them on trust, and to put the level right while nothing sits in the way.
Choosing the cloth
The cloth decision, and the things worth doing while the slate is open.
- Woollen carries a nap and runs slower, which suits a basement room where the standard varies.
- Worsted is smooth and quick, what leagues and halls play on. Balls travel further than newcomers expect.
- Colour is free. Dark hides chalk, light shows wear earlier.
- Seams and bolts get inspected while nothing covers them, and the level put right at the same time.
- Rubber can go on at the same visit, and should if the cushions return dead.
A basement conditioned only at weekends swings a long way between a wet August and a dry January, and cloth registers all of it. Send the size and whether you want pace or control.
What finished looks like
We here at Kansas City Pool Table Movers guarantee all of our work. If you use our services and feel that we did something incorrectly, or that your table is becoming unlevel, we will come back out to fix the issue. This is good for six months after your service is completed.
Our normal appointment times are at 8 or 9 am and 1 or 2 pm. There is an additional $30 fee for any job that starts after 5 pm, on a Saturday, or on a Sunday. There is an additional cost of $30 if we need to carry the table up stairs on an installation. On a home to home move we do not charge extra for stairs on a three piece slate table, and we will not move one piece slate tables up or down stairs.
